Round 8 Superstock 1000 at Cadwell Park wasn’t my finest weekend.

Friday free practice 1 was wet and we made a steady start but felt like after a couple of changes we could make good progress in fp2. Unfortunately, due to the weather FP2 was cancelled. Saturdays’ forecast being dry we went straight into qualifying with very little track time.

Qualifying was tough, we had a longer session due to losing track time on Friday. We struggled with the bike not really giving any feedback and struggled throughout the session, eventually qualifying 35th.

Race day, we made a change for morning warm up and it felt much better, but still nowhere near my pb from last year. With nothing really to lose we made another change for the race. After a decent start, then a small mistake I lost the group in front but slowly gapped the group behind. Luckily for me, the safety car came out and I could close the gap giving me another chance to make up some positions. With only a few laps left after the safety car went in, I pushed on and managed to make up a few places. Eventually finishing 28th.

Honestly not a good weekend, no real reason for it just didn’t ride well. One to forget and move on to Oulton Park.
