In Races

Round 3 Superstock 1000 at Donington Park on the smaller National circuit made for some really great racing in all classes.

Friday practice went really well making progress in each session and feeling positive for more in qualifying.

We managed our best qualifying so far with 31st, a new pb and ready to push in the 2-part race.

Race 1 was tough; I made a good start but on the outside of turn one lost a lot of places. Had a really good battle back through and consistent lap times ended up 27th. Quick 10-minute tyre change, re fuel and back out for race 2.

Starting 27th we knew it was going to be physically demanding after struggling towards the end of race 1. But got stuck in with another good start and honestly found it easier than race 1, consistently faster and a new pb, 2 seconds faster than the last time we rode the National circuit. Finally taking our best finish of 22nd.

Sunday morning saw a change of weather and just as warm up started so did the rain. The track was mostly dry, finishing 8th in the session, we felt good for the race. The heavens opened just before the race, so it was definitely wet. We don’t really have a wet setting having only had 1 properly wet race on the bike. So, a bit of a guess and off we went again making a good start from 29th up to 22nd on lap 1. Before dropping a few places with some hairy moments and struggling once the track started to dry. Eventually finishing 20th and happy to come home in one piece after seeing some big crashes.
