In Races

The final round of the year at Brands GP didn’t quite go as well as we hoped. We made a steady start to the weekend and felt good in the dry.

The weather changed drastically for race day, with no wet setting or track time in the wet. We made a guess at the set up. It felt pretty good on the warm up lap, ready to push in the race. The initial launch wasn’t the best but was making ground into the 1st corner on the outside. Unfortunately, another rider crashed right in front of us, I had to run into the gravel to avoid running him over. By the time I got out the gravel I was behind the safety car and a long way back. I was then shown black flags, not sure why because I didn’t actually crash. The flags then went away, but I pulled in anyway. I wasn’t sure what the situation was regarding the black flag and there was no point risking it when I lost so much time.

Not the way we hoped to end our season. It’s been a challenging year, but we’ve learnt so much as a team both on and off track. We look forward to getting some good testing done throughout the winter and come back strong next season.

Big thanks to all our sponsors, Lee Bailey Joinery and Building, K&L Plastering, Hycross 2000, Steve Sirrell Ltd @ Bike Tyres Leeds, PBS Yorkshire, K&N filters, R&G crash protection, Rock Oil, Performance Friction, Club70, JAB Racing.

Thanks very much also to Brent, Danny and all at Team WD40 for all their help and advice throughout the year.
